(SurvivalDaily.com) – There’s nothing better than having fresh herbs at your fingertips, especially when cooking. You just need to know how to do it and which plants to use.
Birchbox Grooming shows us a few examples.
The video makes it look easy, but they leave out a few considerations. To ensure a healthy indoor herb garden, plants need plenty of sunlight and enough space to grow. Make sure they are herbs you enjoy using in recipes.
Herbs should sit in a window that faces south to south-west, so they receive at least 6 hours of sunlight, or they’ll end up spindly and with little to no flavor.
Water them sparingly and drain saucers of any excess water. Remember, pay close attention to their water needs as they may dry out quicker due to the heater being on during the winter.
Here are just a few ideas perfect for an indoor garden:
- Chives
- Lavender
- Parsley
- Thyme
- Dill
- Lemon balm
